The snow white landscape is subject to feelings of serenity and hallucinations if it's hot and you are very thirsty.
A lot of old western movies were and occasionally still are filmed here because of the wild scenery.

Love the image. Can you explain, or conjecture, as how the flare becomes like a reflection of the sand's pattern? Amazing effect.
